Problem statement (interviewer prompt)

Design a matchmaking system (chess.com / Dota / Apex): players queue, the system pairs them by skill rating, latency / region, and recent history. Tune for short queue times + balanced matches; handle parties; explain ELO / Glicko / TrueSkill choices.
